On December 10, in observance of World Digital Detox Day, an important message on the relationship between mobile device usage and social outcomes such as peace and violence was shared in Mexico by Psych. Olga González, Clinical Psychologist and WDDD Ambassador – Mexico.

Drawing from emerging research, the discussion highlighted how the way technology is used in daily life can significantly influence social coexistence, emotional regulation, and collective harmony. The initiative reached influential audiences, including members of the Union of Public Servants of Zapopan, faculty from the Universidad Metropolitana de Jalisco, representatives of the No Es Momento movement, and officials from the Municipal Institutes for Women of the State of Jalisco.

With the valued support of the Government of Zapopan, these dialogue spaces enabled direct engagement with decision-makers, fostering awareness around responsible digital use as a pathway to mental well-being, safer communities, and a more peaceful society.

This meaningful engagement reflects the growing global recognition that digital wellbeing is not only a personal choice, but a social responsibility. Through such initiatives, World Digital Detox Day continues to inspire conversations that place human connection, balance, and peace at the center of the digital age.
