World Digital Detox Day Celebrated in Dominican Republic

On 10 December 2025, the spirit of World Digital Detox Day (WDDD) reached the Dominican Republic, where three meaningful activities were carried out across different communities, placing children, inclusion, and mindful living at the heart of the celebration.

One of the key celebrations took place at Casita Linda de Veron, a school supporting 250 children from very low-income families. The day was dedicated to screen-free engagement, featuring joyful games and yoga sessions that encouraged movement, focus, and emotional balance.

A particularly impactful highlight was the special activity designed for children with special needs, ensuring that the message of digital balance and well-being was inclusive and accessible to all.

In total, 280 children participated in the World Digital Detox Day activities, experiencing connection, play, and presence beyond screens. These celebrations beautifully reflect the mission of WDDD — to nurture healthier digital habits while prioritising mental well-being, equality, and human connection.

Through such grassroots initiatives, the Dominican Republic stands as a powerful example of how simple, mindful actions can create lasting impact, especially when they begin with children and communities most in need.
